Rivers

Rivers are cold
And sometimes very old
They’re also very dirty
And sometimes murky
Fish like to lurk under the rocks
And people a big shock
In the river lives a big reservoir
Filled with gold fish
And old fish

Old Stephen

2
by Sizhe aged 9

Old Stephen is peculiarly odd
Because he eats cake with cod
He also says that cars are ugly
And he also finds clocks funny

His brain is becoming a little bit old
And when it’s hot he says it’s cold
His age is surprisingly 159
How did he survive? It’s been such a long time

He has pet leaves on his bed
And he also keeps peanuts and then turns them red
He eats sausages with macaroni
And he says newspapers are full of baloney

Stephen has a basket full of chicken’s eggs
And he also has a box full of chopped-off legs
He snacks on onions and he uses typewriters
And he uses Tippex to make his white shirt whiter

This weird man is super weird
He also has a 35 foot long beard
He wears suspenders and he collects toenails
And he also hangs his teddy on clothes rails

The Gender 2.0

The man can exercise
And lift weights
They also protect the women
They are the strong bait

The women can feed
Love and care
They are so nice that
Sometimes men just watch in despair

The man is unique
With facial hair
But they have to be nice
So they have to care and share

The girl is unique
With long hair
They are pretty but some are still mean
The mean people just watch in despair

Lord Darnwheel

by Daisy Woods aged 10

Lord Darnwheel,
A strange fellow none the less,
He has 12 pet snakes winding around his bed posts.
And for some odd reason eats gravy on his toast.

He is quite old, his age however no one knows,
(I reckon he’s 102)
He lives in a big old house.
Through the forest and behind the trees.

He lives with his snakes and an older butler
(I think he is 192)
I am afraid to say this but unfortunately it is true
He is a bit of a nutter along with his butler.

On This Frozen Wasteland

by Daisy Woods aged 10

On this Frozen Wasteland
thy bird does not sing.
On this Frozen Wasteland
thee would perish in a blink

There is no life,
Nor trees on this barren land.
Because this is the frozen wasteland
never what it once was.

It used to be a happy land.
Where smiles were upon all,
Peaceful people,
But why didn’t they see

What they were doing to their perfect world?
Although these people were kind, to their planet however
They were disguised bullies.
Rubbish everywhere my, oh,my.

No trees left for breathing,
with so many perished.
All dead but me.
I couldn’t save my generation, not me alone.

But you can,
If you all take a stand.
So please,
look after your earth.

Because this is the Frozen Wasteland,
Not pretty, but my home.
I shall live out my days here,
However thy shan’t

NHS

by Bernice Anaset aged 9

These are the heroes,
the heroes of the NHS.

They’re risking their lives
with tears in their eyes.

They’re tired and hungry
and praying and hoping
that one day this will end.

Oceans

by Bernice Anaset aged 9

Break, break, break,
On thy cold gray stones, O sea!
And I would that my tongue could utter
The thoughts that arise in me. I can hear the birds
Singing and tweeting in the sky
The oceans are glittering in the moonlight

Mountains

This is all about mountains
the mountains are so beautiful
they even make me cry
but why

They make me shy
they make me cry
they make me high
above the sky

Good bye
