Equal

by Kade McKimm aged 10

Everybody is equal, skin colour does not matter.
Questioning the way somebody be arrested by the colour of their skin.
Ultimately George Floyd should still be alive
Angel, fly high tonight
Look at this poem to see if I’m right

Rain

Rain splashing down the window
Rain sploshing down the door
Wet paths and
Slippery door handles
Soggy wood
Sodden grass

Help Me Please

by Mary aged 7

Help me please, there’s a lion near me
What shall I do? Just help me please
Help me please, there’s a monster under my bed
What shall I do but scream my head off
Help me please, I am sorry for the shout
I am just shy
so help me please

Caking A Bake

1
by Kade McKimm aged 10

I baked a cake,
but she caked a bake.

Creamy, dreamy
Teeny ,weeny

I told her stop talking gibberish,
she said, “Higgledeepiggledy tretty bos.”
So in the end we caked a bake instead

We will keep fighting about this until the end

She and I

2
by Iliana aged 10

She’s living her life,
I’m alone,
She’s incredible,
I’m unknown,
She’s an extrovert,
I’m so shy,
She’s out there smiling,
I just cry,
She’s so gorgeous,
I’m a mess,
She’s so happy,
I’m distressed,
She’s so popular,
I’m not the best,
She’s so stunning,
I’m depressed,
She strives to achieve,
I’m never gonna succeed,
She always believes,
I give up, I’m so lonely.

Covid-19 is Crazy

0
by Sizhe aged 9

Tales about this brand new virus
Less cars and no more buses
But why do I see buses on the road
It might because of the virus tales, there are loads

Now they’re saying we need to lockdown
Staying at home is making your face frown
I’m over staying at home
I’m going out to have some fun

Staying at home will protect the NHS
They are literally just trying their best
To protect us from this coronavirus
For now let’s just stop making a fuss

Only go out to buy essentials
Do that, don’t buy clothes, it’s like your credentials
Toilet paper sanitizer and toothpaste
Are good, buying clothes is just a waste

Stay healthy fit and strong
Going outside, well that’s just wrong
For now we don’t need our Vitamin D
When lockdowns over we will be free

For now just hang out indoors
Stay six feet that’s like pretend laws
Do your own thing with no contact
Do you realize it’s making a big impact

75 Years

by Eviana aged 7

75 years of street parties,
75 years of fun,
75 years of joy,
75 years of love.

75 years of happiness,
75 years of thanks,
75 years of relief,
75 years of dreams.
