Onomatopoeia

Onomatopoeia is a very long word,
it describes a sound you’ve heard.
The bird goes squark and the chicken goes cluck,
bumpity bumpity bump go the wheels on the truck

The cow goes moo and the sheep go baaaa
You can use onomatopoeia wherever you are.

If there is no sound, you can make one up
like paddely waddely woddle goes the waddling duck
or squigglesqelsh goes the pig in the muck.

Roar goes the monster in the story
Hmmmmmm I forgot said a fish named Dory

Onomatopoeia is quite cool
I think we should use it more in school.

Life is fun but sometimes sad
Day and night non stop
Keep it a happy time
Don’t worry what happens next
Just enjoy and don’t ruin it
There is one life and that only

I ate chicken and apple pie
If you’d try steal it you’d better not try
I will knock you down with a bat
And then I’ll feed you to my cat

Winter

by Rayhaan Hossain aged 10

The winter sun lowers down
Shining beams of light above the snow
The stag, the mare and the doe
All in their stables
All the trees, ash oak and maple
Capped with snow
Just like Mount Everest
Winter is here

My Little Brother

0
by Ruby Earp aged 10

He is very cute
and is very smart in a suit
He makes a big mess
and never eats less

He loves going to the airport
and building a big fort
He begs and begs for me to play
and with his cute face I have to say okay

He hugs me and cuddles with me
because he is scared of a bee
and sobs and cries
while my sister sighs

He wakes up at the crack of dawn
and sometimes he pretends that he has just been born
He smiles and smiles when he is about to get fed
and cuddles his teddy when he goes to bed

I don’t want him to grow up at all
as he and I both love to play ball
He’s like a basket of snakes
and loves to eat cakes

He’ll get mad and slam the door
but I’ll love him and love him forever more.

Animal Eater

Animals look so innocent in a way
and if i could say
Why do we murder this kind
I couldn’t bear this crime
I would rather be blind .

If I could have a chance
I would scold everyone
Until they would stop being cruel

Every time I see something
People go to a pond and feed fish
Next day they have fish and chips
I hope whoever reads this poem learns a message,

It is best to do something good for wildlife
than distressing it!
Hope you’re enjoying the poem
as much as I enjoyed writing it

Sword Art Online

Swish the sword
Like a lord
Look at the shards
Shatter in pieces
Disappearing like sand
It’s victory
Now you celebrate
For those comrades of yours

Remembrance Day

A little red poppy in the middle of the grass
seeing the arrival of an army.
Their uniforms ripped and bloody
the wounds in their chests could not be healed.
Now every time I see a poppy
my heart thinks of all our fallen soldiers
