A Dog’s Love.

by Millie Q aged 9

Like a rocket, on its way to the moon,
Ivy ran towards me, smiling.
It was the best feeling I’d had in a while.

Feeling her fur on me was like love, waiting to happen.
Feeling her paws on me was just like I’d imagined.
Feeling her wet tongue on my face
was like an ice cream in the middle of summer.

I love Ivy, she loves me.

Missing Home

I’ve been missing home,
I’m in a foreign land
and I don’t know how to ask
for a roof over my head.

Books

You write books at school,
Love books they’re cool,
Books always take you to a different place,
Read books about detectives and practise solving a case,
So why not sit back and relax in a nook,
And find and pick out your favourite book,
To a book you can never say ‘bye,
And I’m not telling a lie,

My Friend Molly

My friend Molly
she is not a wally
She is helpful and kind
and loves to rhyme
She is crafty and always asks me
Is this good and I say
Luckily it does not look like a hood
Thanks for listening
Oh, and Molly loves whistling

Poems

Poems are cool,
You have to write them at school,
Write them in your break,
Or on a walk by the lake,
They don’t have to rhyme,
But they do have to be in time.
Write poems about dogs,
Or cats or even frogs,
Poems can be funny,
About a cute little bunny,
Or very serious or sad,
About the war that’s very bad.
I quite like poems that are funny,
Poems where they all have ice cream and it’s nice and sunny,
I hope you have had a lovely day,
If you haven’t then why not put on a play?

dragon,
fiery wings flap,
fire sparks drop on the ground,
out of the dragon’s mouth comes fire

Lockdown

Lockdown is nearly over
I need some luck from a four leaf clover
i have now missed my holiday
and my last birthday was in May

Lockdown causes sadness and grief
and has stolen happiness, known as a thief
I can go out a bit more
which is the medicine to bore

Lockdown makes me miss friends
so I Facetime which gets me on the mend
my schoolwork is done at home
and my brother does his and moans

Lockdown will be over soon
and butterflies will cocoon
I really do have some faith
and i know that it is keeping us safe
It’s keeping us safe

My friend Rose
I love her toes they’re pretty
and sometimes have a sticker of a kitty
Her fave sport is gymnastics
I guess because you do not use plastics
I think you will like Rose
I am just telling you
that she loves shows
That is rose

The Night Sky

by Rose aged 9

I gaze around at the night stars,
The colourful sky with the setting sun,
The glowing stars there are a ton,
I’m hypnotised you the magical sky,
Space is up there so so high,
I could wrap myself up in a warm rug,
So I keep myself super snug,

The stars gleaming and shining so so bright,
Come and visit this beautiful night,
The centrepiece really is the moon,
But don’t worry it will come and go soon,
You could stay there all night long,
If you didn’t it would be wrong,

Grant your wish under a star that glows,
But don’t tell anyone there not supposed to know,
Leave it to yourself and have your wish alone,
Even though the stars will go ,
They’ll come back with an even brighter glow.

The Night Sky

As the sun went down, down, down,
I look around and see,
A sky of glistening silver stars,
And a moon as round as could be,

It was a blanket of stars and night sky,
Covering the clouds above,
The constellations are beautiful,
You will find it hard not to love,

I wish upon a shooting star,
As it zooms past,
And then the sun comes up again,
It’s day, oh yay, at last.
