Yum yum in my tum tum
it makes me fun
it makes me run
Oh, yum yum in my tum tum.
It’s the best of the west
Oh, yum yum in my tum tum.

Teachers

by Shifa Asif aged 10

Teachers care for you,

The teachers make everything fair,

They share new things,

They can teach us everywhere,

Even in the cold air,

Teachers give you education and advice!

For the next generation,

They write on the white board,

Teachers make us wise!

They do not let us fiddle and play,

I can do anything,

For my beautiful teachers.

Nature

by Chloe aged 11

As I stare outside the window
I think to myself
how wonderful nature really is,
how nature can do phenomenal things
that we humans can’t explain

Hero Stuck Inside

1
by Dihini Wijesundera aged 12

One day I became a superhero
And it was a lot of work
One villain reminds me of Emperor Nero
His golden hair and smirk

I had the power to fly
It’s difficult I heard
But I took up to the sky
And slammed headfirst into a bird

I could run really fast
A meter per second
I’ll never come last
I’m the fastest I reckon

A week later, a villain came about
It was a villain that cannot be seen
It can go in and out
It’s name was Covid-19

It started at May 13
They closed all, the schools
We have to stay in quarantine
Anyone who goes out is a fool

We have to stay at home
Yes, some are all alone
Sanitizers are our friend
I’m sure this will end

I Am Not Good at Titles

by Hitakshi Mandal aged 10

I am not good at titles, if you ask me,
I might be good at music,
but don’t ask me for a title,
because I’m not good at titles

Good Day

I had a good day today
It was in a dream
I ate sizzling sausages
and banging booming rain
It was a beautiful day

The Weirdest Things

0
by Sizhe aged 9

On January I went ice skating
But instead I have been waiting
Many people queued for a turn
But then someone got a sunburn?

On February I ate a giant gummy worm
But it wasn’t gummy you should learn
My sister pranked me with a giant worm
I didn’t know you could find them so I had learned

On March I wrote a story
But my sister said it was boring
I was upset because of that insult
But in my story I saw it was about a test result

On April I went on an egg hunt
But when I found a five pound note I spent it on lunch
Then I found an egg with teeth
So then I realized it was from daddy

Imaginary Valerie

0
by Doris aged 11

Valerie, oh Valerie,
Massive thoughts appear
Valerie, yes Valerie
The time has come
For all your years to fly
And all your tears to shed goodbye
Valerie, no Valerie
You do not have patience
For the world to have you there
Valerie, may Valerie
Valerie, try Valerie
If you shall not be you
Then all shall become you
And if you be the Valerie
The whole world knows
All shall be well
Now Valerie, Valerie, Valerie
May we have a talk
For me as a friend of yours
Just a short walk
You know that you are special
No need to hide
Valerie, Valerie
My imaginary one
Come out of your ghostliness
Leave all the pale behind
Come into reality
Come into my gaze
My friend of thought from long ago
I feel kind of dumped without her
Valerie come on here
May we see you for a while
I know it may be tricky
But I shall make you smile
Come out with no confidence
That’s OK I will help you shine
You know I am not too old to believe in magic
Oh SO divine

Thinking

by India aged 12

I know what you’re thinking,
I know I’m not thinking.
I know what you’re thinking.
I know I’m weird.

Thinking is hard when you’ve got to think for yourself
My actual name is Yeet
My actual name is Indoa Camila Boggtrotter
So what?

Why do I keep saying I’m still nine?
