The Window

by Ellie Everington aged 11

Open the curtains
Maybe there’s a magic unicorn
or a lazy dog.
Open the curtains
maybe there are ten ladybirds
or a mountain bike.
Open the curtains
even if there’s only
a rock.
At least there’s
life

School

0
by Savannah aged 11

School has begun, don’t wanna be late,
I’ve waited six months to see my mate.
I take out my pen and then my book,
Let’s hope a new start brings me luck.
I pick up my pen with fingers and a thumb,
I write until my hand goes numb.
Phew, school is over for today,
At least we get a holiday.

The Light

by Georgia Everington aged 7

Turn on the light,
maybe there’s a ghost,
or a sofa or a TV,
turn on the light,
maybe there’s a vampire,
or a gnome or a picture.
Turn on the light,
even if there’s only a chair.

Just Like a Wave

0
by Eleanor Ross aged 12

You see, it’s just like a wave.
You see the sand beneath your toes get wetter, and colder, just from the wave.
You see the clouds disappear into the midnight sky, just like a wave.
You see your shadow watching you fall into a sea of emotions, just like a wave.
I see the stars twinkling into my eyes, as someone taps your shoulder slightly,
“You remind me of it. Just like a thought, its just like a wave,
it goes back up and watch it float away.”
Their voice is quiet and innocent,
and sounds like the preference of a wave.

The Ocean

0
by James Langridge aged 15

The ocean is endangered with plastic,
Which is not fantastic
Turtles are dying
Which is very sighing
Fish are getting fished out of the ocean
That is also of an explosion
Climate change is killing
Which is very unwilling
Coral reefs are dying
Which is very unsurprising
Pollution is toxic
Which is killing all the tropic
Many people don’t care
Which is very unfair
It can also give us a scare
With many of them spared
They need help
With the water that smelt
There is a whole plastic island
Which looks like a highland
Many of them are near extinct
Some people are becoming strict
A lot of them have now linked
Trying to stop the mess
A lot of them now have stressed
With it all coming clear
We need to get our gear
And stop killing the ocean

Edgar the Rabbit

0
by Rosa aged 9

Edgar was a rabbit who lived on Dury Lane.
He ran around the park again and again.
He moved swiftly through the crowds
and flew over the clouds.
He did this all just to get his steps up.
He then had tea in his favourite cup.
So there is Edgar for ya.

Iris & Elly

2
by A. Girl aged 11

Iris & Elly, an inseparable pair
Best Friends Forever
And how much they care.

Someone to laugh with,
Someone to cry with.
Someone to be bad with.
Someone to be good with.

I know this you see,
as Iris is my younger sister.

Leaf

by Bethany aged 9

Lonely little leaf were did you go?
Why are you away from your family home?
Swishing through the sky the wind makes you crinkle

When Witches Hate Children

0
by Sizhe aged 9

Kill all the children then eat them up
Slash them, mash them then drink their blood from a cup
Feast on their bones and snack on their brain
It is so good to see children in pain

Boil their legs and grill their heart
Use the liver to make a liver tart
Make a delicious intestine stew
Serve some teeth with green slimy goo

Chomp on their tongue and rip out their hair
Then steal their flesh and take them to your lair
Drink some beer and their toenails
Then leave the rest to freeze in the hail

and like to go on my crazy cart
and electric scooter

that does play games
with my breakfast
while I play Fortnite
