Homeless

The one who leaves me behind.
I’m left on the streets.
You just walk by.
I just can’t interpret your mind.
And all the loves lost.

The heart beats.
The sound fades.
I lose hope as it goes away.

The fate is there,
On the ground.
I just don’t have the energy to get around.

Take a step,
Fall down.
Get up again and you push me to the ground.

The heart beats.
The sound fades.
I lose hope as it goes away.

Look up, I’m stared at.
Bending down you give me a piece.
Then walk away in peace.

I Look at it as if it were a diamond.
The precious piece is stolen.
I glared at him, with all the glory taken away.

The heart beats.
The sound fades.
I lose hope as it goes away.

As a storm breaks out,
There’s nobody on the streets.
My clothes are wet, I’m in half-sleeves,
All I can do is call out for the one who is complete.

I miraculously made it through the night.
Open my eyes to see the light.
Unlike last night the streets were full of fright.

The heart beats.
The sound fades.
I lose hope as it goes away.

Everything is calm.
Just as you stroll along.
You take a step back and exclaim “You stink!

My tummy’s grumbling for I haven’t eaten.
It grumbles again and I start to feel the pain.
People peeping at me with silence that is plain.

The heart beats.
The sound fades.
I lose hope as it goes away.
And it goes away for eternity.

I’m Grateful

Nature, nature all around
Listen here, you should be proud
Nature, nature all around
Look at all your leaps and bounds

Think of the rain pattering, wind howling
Think of the snow falling, robins tweeting
Think of the snowdrops blooming, ice forming
I’m grateful for you all

Think of bunnies bouncing, blue gigs singing
Those lambs bleating, robins meeting
Daffodils show, you can’t feel low
I’m grateful for you all

Think of the Sun shining, people smiling
Time outside of taking a ride
Flowers blooming, the breeze calming
I’m grateful for you all

Sweets and Chocolate

Sweets, sweets, sweets
gummy bears all around
but Haribos can’t be beat
Chocolate, chocolate dar,k milk white, milk
both are a delight,
Kit Kats are good but Dairy Milk is best.
When I eat them my mouth waters
like a chocolate river mixed with caramel

Under the Surface

I’m not like her you see…
I keep my boundaries
because I’m fine in my jeans and this old T
facing reality when I’m with you three.
You like her and not me…
but it’s hard to keep my mouth shut
when I know too much about you.
It’s hard to say I don’t care
when all I do is stare around you.
But I know when we go together
much better than you two…
’cause she doesn’t know your middle name
or how you tie your shoes,
the face you make behind your mates,
when their mad at you.
She doesn’t know you flip your hair
when you’re nervous…
or how you really are…
under he surface.
I’m not like her you see…
She found love at fifteen
I keep my boundaries
because I’m fine in my jeans and this old T
facing reality when I’m with you three.
You like her and not me…
but it’s hard to keep my mouth shut
when I know too much about you.
It’s hard to say I don’t care
when all I do is stare around you.
But I know when we go together
much better than you two…
’cause she doesn’t know your middle name
or how you tie your shoes,
the face you make behind your mates,
when their mad at you.
She doesn’t know you flip your hair
when you’re nervous…
or how you really are…
under the surface.
Under the surface
I know we go together
so much better then you two.
She doesn’t know your middle name
Or how you tie your shoes…
the face you make behind your mates..
when they’re mad at you…
she doesn’t know you flip your hair when you’re nervous..
or how you really are under the surface…
Under the ssurface…

Bob

Yellow and green,
Oh-so mean,
Lazy blob don’t do
anything at all,
His belly is 19 feet tall,
He is a lazy ball,
His name is Bob,
And he is such a slob.
He likes to play a doll,
Shall I make a call?

Poetry’s a thing from within,
As it bellows inside,
Come out aloud,
Releasing many urges
Expressing every single word.

It’s Our Future

We can do something extraordinary, no not eating a massive berry!
It’s something to do with the thing we live on, I can guarantee there is only one!
It’s round and it’s great and it’s never too late, save planet Earth, step up to the plate.
Here’s a list of things you can do, to help the Earth for me and you:
Turn off the tap before you have a nap, otherwise you will take the rap.
Tell the people, spread the word & never be undeterred.
Together we can stop deforestation, don’t just tell our own nation.

All we need to do is one small part to stop our Earth from falling apart.
Don’t drive your car, it causes pollution, cycling or walking is the solution.
Volunteer to clean up your community, this might be your only opportunity.
Using alternatives instead of plastic, paper straws that would be fantastic.
So if you know what to do, then make a change for me and you.

The Poetry Zone

Poems help us describe our feelings
Poems let us describe our dreams
Poems come in all ShApEs AnD SiZeS
They help us discover the unknown
But who do share with?
Why, I ponder?
But at last I have found it
A place to share poems
Why, it’s The Poetry Zone
Filled with poems to make you
laugh
gasp
and cry
all with joy
A place that will surprise you
with wonders of all sorts
so send a poem you might be good
You never know

My Adorable Dog!

by Olivia Matla aged 11

Every morning when I wake up,
I see my little pup,
Her tiny hazel eyes make me feel joyful inside,
Then together we stride outside.

I love my puppy,
She is as sweet as a jar of honey.

No Ordinary Picture

by Nour Ben Khalifa aged 12

This is no ordinary picture
It’s full of vivid memories
I held it out and gazed
A flood of memories gushed past
Oh my! The past doesn’t last

So, remember
This looks like a picture, but no…
It’s full of secrets, full of life
from another world; another dimension
That flows without intention

This is no ordinary picture
Yet it’s full of wonder
True, it’s old; timeworn
But as vivid as yesterday
And shiny like tomorrow

This is no ordinary picture
I hung it on the wall
Near the entrance
Not far from the exit
Inside my heart, on the hanger of memories

Happy or sad you shall remember
This is no ordinary picture
Full of talking silence
That takes you away
Where you won’t stray

The house you resided
The horse you rode
The people you loved
The heart you enchanted
Just remember, this is no ordinary picture
