The Great Fire – My Burden

0
by Jack Stone aged 9

The fire is raging
the flames are high,
the houses are burning
lighting up the sky.

As I stand here in this hollow room
dread washes over me,
and I face doom.

The people are scared
and I know why,
it’s because of this devil
lighting up the sky.

I know I can’t leave
I can’t leave from here,
I have a responsibility
and I must show no fear.

For I am the king
King Charles in fact,
and as long as I rule
I must stay intact.

The Frame

by Harry Muller aged 11

I am looking through the framed window,
there is a beautiful sight to behold.
A monster of a magnolia tree,
I think it must be very old.

I am looking through through the framed window,
Big tall green storks I see.
On top of the storks huge heads of yellow,
Sunflowers providing nectar for the bee.

I am looking through through the framed window,
I see a tall stem with razor sharp thorns.
Roses as red as blood,
I go to pick it, ouch my finger gets torn.

I am looking through through the framed window,
At a carpet of luscious green grass.
I want to go get my football,
So I can work on my perfect pass.

I am looking through through the framed window,
Oh whats that I see?
Rummaging round for worms to eat,
A nosy red robin looking back at me.

Anthophobia

0
by Iliana Peralta aged 10

The fear of flowers;
A fear so abnormal,
Of something graceful.
A fear so terrible,
Of something wonderful.

The fear of flowers;
Is it even possible?
A fear of a daisy,
The fear of something beautiful?
It’s so crazy.

The fear of flowers;
That isn’t really cool!
It’s called anthophobia,
Flowers are youthful,
They give you euphoria!

The Spring

There once was a frog named Jerry.
He ate a berry that was hairy.
He turned into a bear and cried in despair,
“Oh, I shouldn’t of eaten that berry!
And he tears up a pair of socks.

Terrific Trees

by Lily McKay aged 9

Trees are brilliant,
They’re peaceful and green.
When you’re dancing in a meadow,
They make a beautiful scene.

I love to see
These trees around me …

The cheerful Cherry
The lovely Lime
The perfect Pear
The pretty Plum
The happy Holly
The jolly Juniper
The brilliant Beech
The wonderful Willow
The amazing Ash
The marvellous Maple
The charming Chestnut
The relaxing Rowan
And The Olympic Oak

Trees, I love them all
They are really, really tall

My Nonsense Poem

On the Jiggle Twinkle planet
There lives a Dipoo Ganet
And the cows go
Moo Maa Mow
More May Mee

There are lots of Unicat bunnies
That like to cook Wonunnies
And the Cocopops go
Thoo Thaa Tho
Thor Thay Thee

Today there was a Labellar
Whose friend was called Melbellar
And she sang to the tune of
Poo Paa Po
Por Pay Pee

Maple, the Autumn Fairy

3
by Lily McKay aged 9

Maple is an Autumn fairy
Who lives in an enchanted wood.
She mixes spices together
And makes everywhere look good.

She pours Paprika over the Oak,
Cinnamon over the Maple
She makes the Beech look on fire
By giving it enough Chili energy until April

Finally, she weaves her Autumn quilt
Of crimson, scarlet and mustard bright
She throws it down, tucks them in
And gently kisses them goodnight

Your God is Grateful For You All!

Nature, nature all around
Listen here, you should be proud
Nature, nature all around
Look at all your leaps and bounds all now

Think of the rain pattering, wind howling
Think of the snow falling, robins repeating
Think of the snowdrops blooming, ice forming
I’m grateful for you all

Think of bunnies bouncing and noses twitching!
blue gigs beading!
Those lambs bleating, robins meeting
Horses neighing, pigs snorting
Dogs barking, cats purring!
Daffodils show, you can’t feel low
Roses growing in the smoothly summer!
They’re all grateful for you!

Think of the Sun shining, people smiling
Time outside of taking a ride
Flowers blooming, the breeze calming
windy, rainy, breezing
God is grateful for you, all of you!

Hope

I’m cold, I’m cold, I’m cold,
I’m not much more than sand in a hold.
I got the sight of the frostbite.
I’m chillin to fear, I’m chillin to death.
I’m scared, I might not see you.
All the days that past.
All the nights that went.
Please somebody come for me,
Whoever does has a pure heart just like the one I saw.
I don’t like fear so that’s why I gonna stand strong.
I’m not gonna let the world go behind me.
I have to keep it in my sight,
Otherwise, I’ll have a treacherous night
I’ll surely feel the pain,
Like those days I went insane.
I wanna go to the bright side
But I got shunned to the dark side.
My only hope is to get up on my feet,
And sing to the one who came for me.
I will and I will never be more happy,
To see the greatest the only hope.
All I have to do is wait for the moment I get back to being who I am.
JUST give me a few years and I’ll be back on my feet.
JUST like the one I hoped for,
JUST like the one I begged for.
But all I know is they will never come,
Even if I plead for them.
I don’t know what to say who I am
I’m starting to lose confidence
Like somebody was taking over my heart.
Hope has come back, we re-join as we met.
And then I woke up, everything is in harmony AGAIN.
