Her Dream Puppy

Her dream puppy
as pretty as can be
with big brown eyes
and ears so floppy

His tiny little tail
wagging around
my favorite color
oak light brown

He will make me happy when I’m sad
He will make me feel strong when I’m mad
Ny puppy will be mine to keep
I will love him and he will love me

So some day
Her wish will come true
Her dream puppy
here with you

Winter

by Fatimah Ali aged 11

Snow is falling all around
Deer are running in the parks
Ho ho ho Santa’s coming
Sometimes I wish it was Christmas all year round

Remembering the story, the star in the sky
The three kings going to see Jesus
The star was far but they still followed
The presents bling in the night sky

Two Days Left

by Mahroosh Qasim aged 9

Two days left until the day
A day where all the children say Yay!
A day that brings joy to the world
Joy, joy goes beyond the Earth
If you’re waiting for the name of the day the wait
It’s lovely and maybe does bring some extra weight
The name is CHRISTMAS!
Christmas
Christmas
Christmas.
Only
Two Days Left!

Area 51

by Samiksha aged 9

Up, up in space I lay,
No one knows me yet,
They don’t know what I say,
They don’t know my secrets yet.

They say aliens live here,
But they really don’t know,
I bet they don’t come because of a fear,
But I really don’t know.

There are lots of secrets in me,
So do come and visit,
Not with fear but with glee,
Come and visit…..

Christmas Tree

by Lyra Zborowski aged 10

In the countdown to the big day,
Comes a thing of Christmas you can’t take away!
The Christmas tree in all its glory,
Can tell hours of stories!
The baubles hidden amongst the leaves,
And on the door is hung a wreath
But nothing beats the tree itself,
Store-bought, cut down, or from an elf!
In your living room, pride of place,
Put a Christmas tree, and celebrate its holiday grace.

Candles

Candles are such a pretty sight!
They light up the night
And make it bright!
They are a lovely kind of light!

Gathering Leaves

1
by Zoey aged 15

Spades take up leaves
No better than spoons,
And bags full of leaves
Are light as balloons.

I make a great noise
Of rustling all day
Like rabbit and deer
Running away.

But the mountains I raise
Elude my embrace,
Flowing over my arms
And into my face.

I may load and unload
Again and again
Till I fill the whole shed,
And what have I then?

Next to nothing for weight,
And since they grew duller
From contact with earth,
Next to nothing for colour.

Next to nothing for use,
But a crop is a crop,
And who’s to say where
The harvest shall stop?

The Life of a Soldier

1
by Isobelle Thomas aged 9

I leave my friends family and home,
To fight in the trenches, a new land I’ll roam.
We march silently into our doom, underneath the bright full moon.
We ready our guns for the attack ahead, I wish myself into my familiar bed.
As I pull firmly on the trigger, inside my head my fear grows bigger.
I look into the eyes of the foes, the frostbite nips at my toes.
My heart longs for home, I’ve never felt so alone.

Fresh Air

Fresh air is flying through the sky.
Fresh air is our life.
Fresh air is around as.
Fresh air is really important.
Fresh air will never be wasted.
