Clouds

by Alya Işıl Dağ aged 8

I was watching the clouds,
There were lots of shrouds.

I see a cloud that looks like a dog,
The dog was catching a frog.

The white clouds go away,
The rain clouds came at the end of the day.

Good Morning

by Isha aged 8

As a new day was born,
The old dark was gone,
As an owl started to yawn,
Baby is called Fawn,
Little pigeon was awoke,
To each other they spoke,
Good MORNING, Good MORNING,
While slowly the sun started shining,
Spreading heat and light,
With all its might,
The wolf started howling,
In the night,
The birds twittering musically,
On the tree,
Little calf jumps around his mother,
Who is bound,
People in the park walking
On the grass.

Brothers are awesome
brothers are cool
brothers are good
at being a fool my
Brothers all hate the game pool.
So do I
but we all love sci-fi!
I have three brothers
I love them so
and I may be the youngest
but they love me though.

I Love Food!!!

by Laila aged 7

I love food for different occasions.
A little snack, maybe crisps or raisins.
Pizza, Chinese, and burgers delivered straight to my door.
Cavemen would not have some of this food,
Meat would be their only boar.
Cats and dogs have food too,
but it is not safe for me and you!
I love food we eat, the glory that awaits,
Let’s believe this food is great.

Wishes

1
by Iliana aged 10

People wish.
They throw coins in wells and wish that their desire will come true.
They ask Santa for gifts and wish that their gifts will be under the tree.
They blow their candles each year and wish for something great.
We all wish – we all want glee.

Some wish for money,
Some wish for fame,
Some wish for luxury,
Some wish for acclaim.
But do you know what I wish for?

I wish for myself, my family and my friends to be healthy and happy.
I wish for these world disasters to come to an end.
I wish for the coronavirus to vanish and never return.
I wish for world peace so that we can see each individual as a friend.

These wishes may take time,
But that’s understandable.
As long as this world will be fine,
My exuberance is unchangeable.

These wishes may be a lot to ask for,
But that’s okay.
As long as we all keep strong during these tough times,
Maybe life won’t be so grey.

And now you know my wishes!
But I have one more wish for you:
I wish you happiness, health and wisdom
I do hope the genie will listen!

Santa

by Bernice aged 9

Santa tell me if you really are real?
Tell me what goodies there are sealed.
Where do you travel around the world?
Do you tell Mrs Clause all you have heard?
When you send us all those presents
It just feels like heaven
on that Christmas day.
We’re having fun and drinking Fanta
but tell me if you are real Santa

What a Seedling Really Needs

1
by Apoorva Vishwanath aged 10

I moved to and fro, in a long wait,
asking myself, “How longer would it take?”
The chilli seedlings never appeared satisfied,
as they stayed unchanged, regardless of what I tried.

All my attempts were now futile,
and therefore, I decided after a while,
to have a talk with Ms Seedling,
asking why she wasn’t growing.

“Ms. Seedling, I have been curious to know,
Why the chillies haven’t yet grown, all in a row,
Just the way I had dreamt it to be,
Could you please turn it into a reality?”

Ms. Seedling wisely replied,
“You long to see me grow vast and wide,
but until you give me right what I’ve been needing,
Wouldn’t I remain just as a seedling?”

I started wondering what less had I done,
from watering enough to keeping it under sun;
and as I couldn’t find what I was missing,
I decided to continue listening.

“Pure water is all that I need,
And not the polluted water that you feed;
Under perfect sunlight and pure water,
I’d fulfil your dreams by growing further.”

Now that I knew what I was missing,
I thoughtfully replied to Ms. Seedling,
“From now on, Ms. Seedling, I’ll always ensure,
that the water you’re given is clean and pure.”

Tennis, football
I love to play
When it rains I play any indoor game
Any, any game you name
I love sports, I play every day.
Basketball, rugby I can name them all
but it would take too long so
that’s all

Life

0
by Yuvanthikha Rajmohan aged 8, about to be 9!

Good and bad can interpret life,
Happiness and accomplishment with pain and strife,
Sometimes you are tearful and sometimes you grieve,
But you need determination and you should always believe,
And when you have that you can always achieve…

Life is an adventure with ups and downs,
You have smiles and you have frowns,
Life is an opportunity to strive,
Sometimes life zooms up, sometimes, down it dives…

Life is a way to meet family and make friends,
To have some fun and make amends,
Life is a ticket to have a nice time,
Life is a heart warming, harmonious chime.
