The Holocaust was in the Second World War,
It was an evil never seen before.
The Jews were lined up, row by row,
Walk to the chamber and in they go.
Preying on the weak,
Hitler was truly bleak.
Locked behind fences in enemy camps,
Life for the Jews was certainly damp.
Though allies were on their way,
Many Jewish lives weren’t there to stay.

I saw a shooting star
it didn’t seem that far
it was like a real fast rocket
that would fit inside my pocket
It darted across space
as if it was in a race
it was really yellow and bright
as it travelled through the night
I wonder where it’s been
and what it may have seen
Did it land on Earth
or smash into smithereens?
In the night.
I woke up.

My stomach was rumbling.
I wanted food.
So I pushed my sister’s head of me gently,
hoping it would not wake her up.

Joy fills the air!
The sound of happiness comes in our ears.
People making snowmen.
People having snowfights.
People sledging.
And there’s fun everywhere.
The crow jumping on the branch.
Bits of snow falling down.
Animals hibernate.
While people play.
Kids enjoy this.
Snow is their favourite thing.
It’s white and shiny.
The Earth covered in white.
If you’re in space.
You would see the Earth is white.
You’ll be so proud.
For the beautiful sight!
You’re playing in the field.
Having lots of fun.
You look in the sky.
And you see a light.
It looks like a zig zag.
With more zig zags coming out of it.
And it ruins all your fun.
It strikes somewhere and you hear screams.
From the sound of the screams.
You want to scream too.
Then in the field all you can see.
Is people running around free.
“Aaaaaaaaaah!!!”
“Lightning struck my tent!”
“Lightning scared my kids and now they are lost!!!”
It scares everyone.
Until….
IT FINISHES!!!!!
Then there is all happiness.
And you’re playing in the field again
When you’re sleeping it’s a colourful dream.
You’re dancing around in your head.
But sometimes you wake up.
Maybe in the middle of the night.
And it’s so dark.
You can only see black.
Fear comes in your head.
Spreading around and going down.
Soon reaches your foot.
And your heart is black!
You turn on the light.
You feel good
All the fear drains out.
And what replaces it?
HAPPINESS!!!
Then you go to sleep again.
Colours dancing in your head
But in the morning you wake up again.
It’s maybe dark.
Maybe not.
There is some light.
But it’s not too bright…
Then fear comes into you!
And your heart is black!
You open the curtains.
And what replaces the room?
LIGHT!!!
And what replaces you?
HAPINESS!!!
This thing

It spreads very quickly
Just like it’s jiggly
It just got stuck here
Making us all locked inside our homes
For lunch I’m having a sandwich.
