We Respect You Captain Tom

1
by Isabelle Boardman aged 9

We respect you Captain Tom,
You served our country well,
You tried to raise a thousand,
But you raised forty mil,
You walked one hundred laps,
In your back garden,
To help the NHS,
Yes you truly are the best,
Yes we respect you Captain Tom,
In all the possible ways,
But it is really truly sad,
That you had to pass away.

Everyone was cheering for me.
On my birthday it was eid.

Nature

0
by Adithi Pratap aged 8

Nature is the best,
We help, live and inside it, we rest.
We got to take care of it, plants and flowers,
And the rain gives them, a shower

Trees and plants grow,
Beautiful flowers show,
There are nice meadows where you can play,
“Come on and run around!” you say…

But if everyone litters more,
Our lives will not soar!
We can help our environment!!

As she writes her story,
The imagination is flowing through her,
How I wish I could be her,
Using her bright brain,
I am helping her write rhymes,
Helping her earn money.

by Orla aged 7

“Darkness will come
and thunder will roll,
electric sparks will take their toll.”

The old witch cackled to hear them cry,
to shout, to squirm, to wriggle, to writhe.

But suddenly there came a cry,
“Stop being babies,
apologise!”

“Sorry”, rang out everywhere,
the curse broke,
all was there.

Evacuee Life

by Yuvanthikha Rajmohan aged 9

I’m an evacuee, an evacuee,
I’m going to be evacuated you see,
We all have to get away from Adolf Hitler,
We think he’s so sinister,
So I got a train going to Westminster,

I am far from home,
All alone,
Been in our evacuee homes for more than a year,
We spent so long here,

I was muttering,
About the people suffering,
With less to eat,
Marching in the heat,

Here I feel safer,
Even with the people looking after me,
Give me a little wafer,
And cure me when I get stung by a bee,

I am scared about my mum and dad,
They are the only people I had,
When I came back,
The happiness started to lack,

When I couldn’t see my parents,
But soon I saw them alive,
Doing a jive
