Tom cat, Tom cat, do you have a hat?
Yes I do, said Tom cat, I even have a mat.
What do you eat Tom cat?
I love dead rats.
Tom cat, Tom cat how old are you?
I am as old as you.

No, because you are too fat.

As I Was Walking

by Harriet Jones aged 7

One day I was walking by a river.
I saw a big bird,
It was tall and skinny
And very, very silly.
Nothing like a bird I have seen before.
Never seen a bird like that before.

No wonder people say birds are so interesting.

I guess you think you know this story
You don’t – the other one’s just so gory
The phoney one
The one you know was cooked up years and years ago
Just to sound all soft and sappy
Just to keep the children happy
Mind you they got the first bit right
The bit set in the dead of night

Once upon a time there was a young boy
He had a dream in the night about him on the moon.
The young boy name was Henry.
Henry was on top of the moon
and he saw an Alien!
Henry was frightened.
He didn’t know that it was a dream
He finally woke up but it was still the night
Henry screamed
SO LOUD
He said
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH
HAHAAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHA
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
So he ran away from home
and Henry was never seen again
