Honesty

When you are truthful to one,
one will smile

Some will do the opposite: lying
to not get a punishment that they deserve

Flowers

They grow here and there

They can grow everywhere

Bees love the flowers

One Sad Day in Minecraft

1
by Ashton Kosters aged 12

One sad day in Minecraft,

a creeper was at the door.

Zombies, spiders, skeletons,

and oh so much more.

I had no armor, I had no sword,

all I really had was a huge downpour.

But all the mobs just broke through.

I had to think, but that I couldn’t do.

I soon got creamed by the mobs at the door,

and I was there no more, no more.

Diner

by Charlottei aged 10

tables red and white checks
breaded chicken wings and necks

fizzy drinks with plastic straws
barbeque wings with tender cores

hot churros with a chocolate dip
the waiters: greedy; looking for a tip

arcade games with buzzing sounds
games of pool and poker, endless rounds

flirting bartenders with strange tattoos
cocktails and beers with funky hues

I left with a full stomach and a stranger’s hair bow
when your lonely the diner’s the place to go!

Rainforests

by Hana aged 8

Deep into the forest; a struggle to survive
The habit of animal species all around
Living things aplenty, crawling on the ground

The four main layers, play different roles
The biodiversity forms part of the hell
The vibrant middle layer and features of a canopy
The dark forest floor in the understory

The humongous emerald leaves scattered around
Brings a big cheerful smile to my face! The fragrant tropical scent
And the sound of the crispy leaves; crunch! Crunch!

But I am fearful and timid
As I tiptoe through the rain forest
who knows what danger lurk around
or if I will find my way back…

Happy

Sad times happen
like you get in a fight with your siblings
but there is tight love behind the tie.
Or you lost someone who has died.
Let’s forget about that and have a good time.
Don’t worry
It won’t be sad
it will be happy just like that
Like I say spread joy to spread love.
Not sadness to miserable
Happiness is good.
Don’t forget you are loved.

Covid 19

Covid is a mess.
Where is it going next?
Surely it will hit them
sitting in the court yard
with no face mask
The police are there
better get home before they stare
They caught me there
Now I have to pay like a million pounds
I am only eight
Don’t ever dare.
I have a 100 pounds from my birthday
So I will use that instead.
WAKE UP
It was just a dream.
Now I know to take care.

Anger Inside

by Thomas Poole aged 11

Always a thriving fire… inside…
Covering over everything in hate
A place people don’t appreciate
Often lives die from stress and anger.

Heat over comes inside…
Often slowly walking out
People trying to have a purpose
Trying to help extinguish
The thriving fire inside!

Spring

by Sherdil Asif aged 8

It is spring nowadays,
The time when flowers and trees glow
It is ideal weather for flowers and trees,
The flowers shine with the help of the sun,
Ah! There is just a breeze.
Beautiful little blossoms hanging in trees,
This all happened because of me,
I wished for spring!
My wish came true!
That’s why I am king!

The Truth

We make them and break them,
Power, friendship or love?
Forces conspire against them,
Can it be broken,
How long will it last?
It is made with our tongue,
A state of mutual trust,
Support between allied nations,
Both parties gain,
The authorities,
Will they break it,
The hoax mixture?
They use our ignorance,
A great interest,
An oath is made,
A vow to commitment,
Is it good or bad?
How can we tell from the fake words?
