The Best Teacher

Miss Bicketon
her hair glistens in the sun,
I really wish you could stay,
stay in this school all the way,
Our is probably the best,
well, probably better than the school you’ll go next!

Owl 2

by Adithi Pratap aged 9

Leaves are stuffed in its house,
It has a book showing a mouse.

Once in the house it leaps,
It’ll soon fall asleep.

It has feathers of brown and white,
To creatures it’s a dangerous bite.

Sometimes it’ll be really cute,
Sometimes it’ll want you to be mute.

But it can do a frown,
So turn it upside down!

Ball

by Adithi Pratap aged 9

It is really good, the ball
Different sizes, big or small.

It’ll bounce around,
And it will never make a sound.
But when the air is gone,
It’ll again have to be blown up!

Everyone likes it, even the Mayor!
It’s really popular, it’s major!

Candle

The candle burns up tonight,
It will flicker really bright.
But when it’s dark,
Like a piece of bark,
It will light you up
like a coffee cup!
And when it lights up your day,
You should shout a big hooray!
But when it dies,
Shout – Oh my!
Light it again,
You’ll be happy then!
This really is the best,
It never stops to have a rest.

Plastic Pollution

Plastic pollution,
We clearly need a resolution,
Harming all animals, minibeasts and marine life,
Toys, plastic bags and bottles are rife

Recycle your bags and plastic waste,
Make sure we don’t leave a single trace.
Together we can make a better world,
The one that we all deserve.

Owl

The owl turns its head around,
It can hear a lot of sound.

It will sleep in the day,
So don’t be sad you can’t play
It  will look really good,
Just like an image in a book.

It will look with its eyes,
And may hoot and say Hi
It likes to eat mice,
It’ll try to be nice.

The Sunflower

by Hanshika Mandal aged 12

Alone was the flower
among the pretty others,
her hideousness, or so she thought,
stood out.
Her beauty from within
was only a dim light
She needed to know how to shine bright,
She wasn’t hideous at all.
Yet the others teased her and made her feel small,
this is what makes people insecure.
One day everyone will bloom
like a beautiful sunflower.

When I Look Around

When I look around

I see the birds, the earth, the sky and the ground

When I hear the sounds I hear birds all abound

As I feel around, a flower I found

Man’s Best Friend

by Sam Coleman aged 12

Chasing her tail,
Following others of her kind,
Stalking the goats,
Licking relentlessly at our faces.

Black, white fur with brown short legs.
Wagging her tail whenever she greets us.
Sits and whines
Rolling over for a belly rubs.

Welcome To My World

0
by Eshal Fatima Hasan aged 9

Every weekend after school
We are just all ready to go into the pool
Welcome to my world
You and I
My world’s way cool
Thanks for your time
The virus did not stop us from having fun
so stop being so glum
and say hello to fun
Come along with me
and see it like a dream
You and I will meet
and see it like a dream come true
See you soon
Welcome to my world
Hope you have a fantastic time
Thank you for your time.
