The Fair

I’m bored, nothing’s in store for me
But now I’m running frantic
Full of excitement
But now I’m all jolly good
‘Cause my father said I really could
Go to the fair; all the fun happens there

Now I’m on the way in the car
To see if there are…..
Roller coaster, Ferris wheels
Caramel popcorn, Candy meals
Are all the things I’m told are true
Roller coaster, Ferris wheels
Caramel popcorn, Candy meals

At the fair
Fun happens there
Roller coaster, Ferris wheels
Caramel popcorn, Candy meals
Doo doodoo dooooo..

Shining Star

0
by Teresa Manimala aged 7

I wanna be a star,
shining to Mars.
Imagine all the possibilities I can unlock

I’m not mocking,
I’m just talk, talk, talking.
All the bad things I said are dead

Just watch me tonight.
I’m ready to fight.
I’ll be the light.
Courageous and strong.

I’ll fight all life long
I’ll show you, I’m the best.
Best of the rest.

This is my night to shine…
Unique, petite, and divine.

First Day

1
by Charlottei aged 11

After the longest summer ever
I came back to school,
My primary friends went who knows where
And it has a swimming pool!

I’m now in secondary,
year 7 to be precise
The teachers are good, the students are great
and the school is rather nice!

I started off today
already friends are made
I worry my primary memories
will slowly start to fade

The weather was really sunny
then came an angry storm
and just as much annoying
as a boy in my tutor form

But I don’t mind, no, I don’t care
I’ve turned over a new leaf
i won’t be involved in drama
or start any beef

This first day was good, no, great
just like reception days
But what happens if I hate it
and primary becomes a haze

I’ll have nothing to support me
no one to hug me tight
because I don’t tell people things
that become secrets overnight

My mum has a special gene
of stressing way too far
She would stress about her license
before she’s seen a car!

I think I gained this gene
of stressing before you need to stress
and in this frustration and confusion
my head has become a mess

So let’s hope school goes well
and I don’t forget my things
now I have to go
– before the bell rings

Snow Comes By

by Amelia aged 9

snow comes by
the houses of warm

snow comes by
every where I go

snow comes by
a snow storm

snow comes by
everywhere

snow comes by
but what happens with snow?

snow comes by
but it’s covered

Rhyming

A person in a car
going too far

forgot his phone
broke his bone

because of a guy
wanted
to cry

A Wonderful Day

1
by Teresa Manimala aged 7

Wake up at dawn
Mow the lawn
Put on shoes
Time for school
And I know it’s gonna be cool

What a wonderful way
To say it’s a wonderful day
All the things I imagined
Are now gonna happen

Come back home
Eat my dinner
Play video games
Yes, I’m a winner!

Read a book
Take a look!
Tuck into bed
Lay your head
And take a rest
All the best!

What a wonderful way
To say it’s a wonderful day
All the thing I imagined
Have now happened…

One Sunny Day

by Alexia Ioannou aged 9

One sunny day
Helps me when I’m grey
One sunny day
Let’s go out to play

Hear the children play
On this fine, fine day
Hear the children play
Chase those clouds away

Fluffy white cloud
Clearing in the sky
Let’s sing out loud
No children will cry

See the children’s smiles
Playing in the tiles
Laughter in the air
From that sunny glare

The joy of being a child
Those days without socks
Freedom in the wild
Turn back those clocks

Autumn

0
by Iliana aged 11

Its now September and Autumn is here,
The wind and breeze run through our ears
As we walk on paths stacked with amber leaves
That fall from the tallest of trees

And before you know it, we’ll be trick or treating –
Receiving sweets and munching and eating!
We’ll be in our costumes once again
And running to doorsteps with all of our friends

I just can’t wait, I’m so excited,
Little kids will be so delighted!
Jumping around and hearing crispy sounds
As you step on each leaf that fall on the ground!

It’s pumpkin season!
Get your knives ready…
We’re carving pumpkins
So get your hands steady!

Before I go
Be careful with your knife.
I think that’s it
So have the time of your life!

Autumn’s here,
Also known as Fall,
Enjoy this season
Cuz it’s the greatest of all!

A Beautiful Beach

by Ryan Ramesh aged 8

What a lovely sandy beach!
More yellow than a banana.
Sky is bright as glowing gold.
White seagulls flying around like glistening clouds.
Blue ocean clear as a crystal .
Filled with sea creatures and coral.
What an amazing evening with my best friends!!

Dancing on the Road

by Teresa Manimala aged 7

It’s my time to gleam…
You know I have a dream…
I’m just dancing on the road
Things going untold

I don’t know what to say
But I just go my way
Dancing on the road
Diddlee Doo…

Here’s a li’l song I wrote
I wanna sing it note by note
To you Diddlee Doo …
To you Diddlee Doo …

Up goes my chin
And I grin, grin, grin
Dancing on the road
Diddlee Doo…

Singing songs
Seeing the lights and sights of dawn
Dancing on the road
Diddlee Doo Doo…
