RIP

My dismal death, you inspire me to write.
How I love the way you die, weep and cry,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the somber sky.

Let me compare you to a depressed bay.
You are more jolly and melancholy
Sad breezes flap the poly-dancers of May,
And the springtime has the clad bialy.

How do I love you? Let me count the ways.
I love your mystic knife, sadness and blood.
Thinking of your glad sadness fills my days.
My love for you is the manifest mud.

Now I must away with a sombre heart,
Remember my mad words whilst we’re apart.

Fighter Jet Poem

Faster than trains, faster than planes,
Over the clouds and under the birds,
Over the countries and over the world,
What could it be?
A fighter jet pane.

Polly and Molly

by Ella aged 9

Her name is Polly
She has a dolly
She named it Molly
Molly and Polly love to be silly
When they were silly they were chilly
As chilly as they were, they still wore
red frilly dresses like a Molly and a Polly

My Friend Has Dyslexia

by Martha aged 10

My friend is dyslexic,
She hates it so much,
She doesn’t like to talk about it,
She keeps it bottled up.
She’s not proud of herself,
Although I try to tell her it’s unique,
But she continues to doubt herself,
And get stressed and weeps.
But she’s creative, amazing!
It’s not holding her back.
She has so much potential,
So I asked her to chat.
I told her she’s no different,
To any other people.
And that battling dyslexia,
Is like climbing a steep hill.
When you finally get over it,
You realise how amazing your journey was,
And that dyslexia…
Has nothing wrong with it!

Human

We laugh
We smile
We make things worthwhile
We cry
We create
We become so great
It’s like we are here for a reason
The reason to live
But then we have the twist
The other half of our story
The one we won’t admit
Where we have so much
But still want more
We care
And repair
The damage we cause
We destroy and annoy
We try and try
But we make things worse
It’s like we have a curse

That’s what makes us human

Buzzy Bee

Buzzy bee
I can see
All the joy on yours and my faces
Together we can be
The best they can see

We can have honey,
When it is sunny
We’ll see a bunny
And you’ll be my buddy

Dyslexia

by Ada and Evie aged 10 and 10

Why oh why
Did WE get the horrible curse?
My sister got the smarts the brains
She got the bravery
She got the easiness

I do things differently
I find tests hard
My brothers push me around saying I’m not good enough!

This horrifying thing is Dyslexia
We both have it and….
We like it!

Save the Earth

by Martha aged 10

Why would people,
Trap turtles in seas?
And why would people,
Cut down the trees?
And why are the bees being forced to make honey?
This is not a joke!
IT IS NOT FUNNY!
Help us save the Earth,
And stop climate change and plastic,
If you do, it will be fantastic!
