Ice Cream Mayhem

2
by Joshua aged 11

I love ice cream,
It is the best food in the whole wide world.

I always have it after dinner,
and opening a new packet is the most satisfying thing ever,
When it droops on to your spoon and goes into your mouth
then all your mouth goes numb.
That is the feeling that happens to me.

Anyway,
Once we had this ice cream for tea
And when I went to bed, I had this weird sensation in my mouth.
Ice cream!!
I jumped out of bed and slammed the door shut,
But then I heard what I really feared.
It was my dad,
He heard the door slam shut!

I then rushed back to bed and pretended to go to bed.
Luckily he went back to bed and that was my window,
I then crept down the stairs,
Don’t step on the creaky stair,
Creeeeeeeeeeek, oops!
Okay, we’re clear.
I then saw the freezer,
Quickly open the freezer,
Raaaaaaar,
Get the ice cream,
Baang,
No, I dropped it!
Anyway open the packet,
Mmmmmm,
Delicious

Josh are your there!

HEEEEEELP!!!

Minnow, My Favourite Cat

by LaraH aged 11

Minnow, you’re my favourite cat in the whole wide world,
You’re the best even though you scratch me
And chase me when you want something,
But I don’t really care.
The only thing I care about is you, my cat.

The kindest thing you do for me is bringing home presents!
A Rabbit, many, many mice and the odd bat or two,
Recently you haven’t brought home any presents for me…

Everything about you is amazing,
You’re as fluffy as a cloud and as careless as my brother.
You both are so alike: careless, lazy and so so much more,
Even though you’re like this I love you with all my heart.

When you go to bed with me the only thing I hear is,
Purrr… purrr… the loudest purr in the world of cats,
You pester me until I stroke you and you get what you want… all the time!
You are the cutest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cupcakes

Always in my free time
I love to make cupcakes.
The Icing, the filling in
The middle and the eating
At the end.
I love all of it.

I would rush down to the
Kitchen THUMP,
THUMP, THUMP.
Pull out the pots and pans drawer
And dig my hand right in
To the weigher thing
At the back.
Pull out the flour and all
The other ingredients
And mix them all together

Climb up on the marble top counter to
Reach for the little cupcakes cases
Jump down and fill up the little cases

As they are in the the oven
I sit back and relax,
Then the oven dings!
I Rush over to take the cupcakes
Out of the oven.
Yummy
CUPCAKES!

Dragon Train

by Charlottei aged 11

the bridge is made
of the finest brick
that’s red and smooth
cemented thick

from under the bridge
a wondrous sight
a puff of hot smoke
dark as night

a sizeable mass
of silky steel
that’s red and cold
with a metallic feel

warm engines chug
as each wheel turns
railways spark hot
as slowly coal burns

each carriage occupied
with a stranger unknown
the man we look at
just wants to go home

he has a tall black hat
and unforgettable eyes
as black as his hat
that hold too many lies

he holds a brown briefcase
the buckle sprinkled in rust
all sorts of paperwork
all sprinkled in dust

he has a long brown coat
that’s velvet and rare
with little black buttons
sewed on with horsehair

he has a curly mustache
which is thickened with gel
and his wrinkly face
has a musky sweet smell

the red dragon creature
gives a horrific, loud roar
that crumples the carpets
and shakes up the doors

a puff of cloudy, grey smoke
is soon after released
and screeching to a halt
is the mighty red beast

the man opens the gate
and walks along the train
exits through the squeaky door
to walk out into rain

he props up an umbrella
a steamy pastry he buys
with raisins and spices
he eats with closed eyes

he sees a tall smiling girl
with tears in her eyes
“My daddy! My daddy!
It’s my daddy!” she cries

she leaps into his arms
they can be seen for miles
they both hold on tight
the train watches and smiles

The Beginning

by Emma Richens aged 11

Trees dancing in the wind,
flowers blooming,
sky as deep as the ocean.
Delightful doves soaring,
birds gliding in the wind like petals falling.

Thunder.
Boom.
Darkness descends.
Flowers start to die,
the world is as silent as a prayer.
No hope left,
Will the world ever recover,
from this darkness?

Betsy

Betsy is my besty and its what I call her daily
I could make a song about her on a vintage ukelele
Her name isn’t really Betsy but I won’t make it public yet
I run from each lesson to the next starting to sweat
We’re in different sets in school so I don’t see her in class
My tutor tells us off for muddy shoes (from the grass)
We eat lunch together, laugh together and walk home everyday
before taking the bus, we get sweets and she will pay
She pays because we have made an arrangement, a sort of deal
I carry her PE bag and get a small sugar meal
On most Wednesdays I go to hers right after school
We raid her cupboard full of snacks and drink ice water nice and cool
That’s all i have to say about my besty Betsy for now
PS – we’re meeting in the library tomorrow.
Ciao!

Who laugh’s this way?
Ho-ho-ho
S-a-n-t-a
Who drives his sleigh
through sleet and snow?
S-a-n-t-a
His hair is white,
his nose is red,
he wears a hat
to cover his head
Who brings fun to boys and girls?

Its colour is gold

It gives us light
