Midnight Snack

by Sofia aged 10

When I was five I had an obsession with angel slices
which are those small cakes I ate for pudding after dinner every evening.
I loved the taste so much I could eat a hundred
but I was only allowed one.

One day I grew tired of only getting one each day
so I made a plan
After my parents said goodnight to me
they would then go to put my brother to bed
leaving me time to strike.
I snuck downstairs and grabbed the 8 pack angel slices
taking out one
I thought I may just eat it downstairs so I ate it.
OOH it tasted so good I ate another one!
I just couldn’t help myself it was so good I ate it all.
“Oh no, there’s none left mum’s going to notice it!”
So I ran back to bed hoping to not get told off…

Ice Skating

by Siena aged 10

I love to ice skate
I love how you step on the ice
The wind in you hair
The soft breeze of fresh air

It’s the perfect way to start the day.
When I hear “time for ice skating,”
It’s like music to my ears.
I jump straight out of bed ready to go.

So we drive to the rink,
I put on my skates,
I step on the ice
And glide.

“Forward skating,” my teacher says
“Backwards skating,
Swizzels down the rink
And now a spiral.”

It may be difficult
But it brightens up my day
Oh how much I love ice skating
Do you love it too?

I Love Toblerone

by Zachary aged 11

I love Toblerone,
It’s the best.
It has the nice small bits of nougat and almonds,
And the chocolate on the outside.
Mmmmmm, nice Swiss chocolate.

It has the triangle shape of the Matterhorn.
I love Toblerone so much I even brought some back from
Switzerland.
The guy who made the Toblerone was a genius,
He must be popular.

When I get home from school I ask my papa and daddy for a piece of chocolate.
When I go Into the cupboard I take a nice triangle or two of Toblerone
and pop it into my mouth mmmmmm
I was so happy.

Then I go straight to bed.
When I wake up in the morning
I can still taste that nice warm chocolate still in my mouth.

In the evening I asked my parents at dinner I if I could have a square of Toblerone,
They said I could so I went into the cupboard,
opened the door and looked at the shiny Toblerone with the bright red writing.
My eyes were watering, I couldn’t resist it.
I put my hand in and took one square like my parents said
and thought I might just take two.
So I popped them in my mouth and ate them.
And that was the last time I had Toblerone

For now…..

Bed

by Katie aged 10

I love sleeping in my bed

But there are two problems about your bed
Firstly at bed time I never want to go to my bed
I always try to get out of bed
begging my mum to play the next episode of whatever
or making excuses like can I get my water please
or I need the toilet, I will be quick!

But you end up going to bed half an hour after you have been sent.
But the problem is the morning.
When your mum comes into your bedroom
turns on the brightest light and says,
“Time to get up it’s six forty five”

Then you just don’t want to get up
because you want to stay in bed
and have more dreams and sleep
and then you regret staying up so late
You regret not going to bed when your mum or dad tells you to.
So I go to school, get home and go to sleep
and don’t want to go to bed all over again.

Coco

I love my dog
She loves to play
But she is the naughtiest dog ever

Why? I’ll tell you

She always bites
And sometimes she bites your face
She is really naughty
Some people think she is really cute

She jumps up and over couch
And lands on your head
She scratches you really hard
Sometimes the scratch makes you bleed

You know when they are puppies
And they’re so cute
But when they get older they go crazy
Every year they go even crazier until there all worn out
But my dog doesn’t get worn out

Crunchy Crisps

1
by Raphael aged 10

I love crisps

Everyday I come home from school
and ask my mum if I can have a packet of cheese and onion Walker crisps
and everyday she says,
“Rapha you can have a packet of cheese and onion Walker crisps but only one.”
So I open the cupboard crk crk, and open the reduced six pack of crisps
and pull out one packet.

Then you sit on the sofa and watch the tele eating your crisps.
Every time you pull a thin golden flake of the potato variety
out of the packet
you have a warm sensation.
Then they make the lovely sound of a crunch in your mouth.

One day coming home from school It was a salt and vinegar kind of day.
I opened the cupboard as usual and they were gone,
the crisps were gone!
I asked my mum “Where are the crisps?”
and she said “ I ate the last packet”.
I was so angry my usual home time packet of crisps was missing.

I was so angry that I was willing to go all the way down to the corner shop
and buy a 6 pack of crisps. Then I hatched a plan. As soon as everyone was asleep I would go down the stairs, open the door, walk down to the corner shop and get my six pack.

So at 6 am I sprung out of my bed and tiptoed down the stairs,
opened the door and began the walk to the corner shop.
It was a chilly morning and I knew I had 40 minutes till Mum woke up.

Then I strolled into the corner shop and there it was the all holy mighty 6 pack.
I grabbed it and plopped it on the counter with £1.50.
As soon as I paid for the six pack I ran out the shop and sprinted back to my house
not knowing what was waiting for me….

Oh How I Love Chocolate

by Jamila aged 10

Oh how I love chocolate,
the crunchy gooey delight.

I go home and stare at the cupboard open it
and just take a moment to stare
at the beautiful shiny wrapping as I carefully peel
the sweet treat awaiting for me.

I can always smell chocolate anywhere.
I know it’s so bad but at the same time it’s just so good.
I used to lick the wrapper to get every little last drop of chocolate out.

I creep out to see if there is any chocolate left from pudding
and if I could just sneak in a little bite,or two
More, oh yummm, that is so delicious
but I dare not have more because I know they’d notice.

Yum Yum chocolate is my favorite food in the world.
Every time I see chocolate I hope, dream, wish it’s for me
oh how I love chocolate so much.

Malteser Christmas Cake

by George Hodgson aged 10

Oh how I love the Malteser cake
It’s so lovely
When you bite in you get the biscuit crumbs and then the ice cream with it
It fills you with life and is so refreshing
You know the biscuit crumbs in the middle when you bite them they are hard and nice
It tastes so good in your mouth.
My mother tells me that if any is left over I can take it to school
and have it at lunch in the playground and eat it there

One day I was playing on my Xbox and my tummy started to rumble
I knew that there was some Malteser cake left over in the fridge
so I went to get a slice
But there was only one quarter left so I took it without thinking
and went back to my video game and all was fine

I came down from my room to have breakfast
and then my mom said that I could take some Malteser cake to school
as there was some leftover
I started to itch and sweat a little bit
My mum noticed that is was not so happy about having but carried on
She opened up the fridge and lifted up the cover and……
Nothing was there
“Have you by any chance eaten some
because there is some chocolate fondant on your lips
yes, right there”
“No”

I realised that i should not eat any Malteser cake
without being told.

The Caterpillar

1
by Dexter aged 9

A caterpillar strolling along
His pace was pretty slow
But the things that he would meet today
Were not friends but a foe

He stumbled through the undergrowth
With no cares in his brain
As he gradually continued
Down the rocky garden lane

But then he saw a flash of yellow
And a golden glint of honey
His feeling he could not explain
But it was very funny

Then pouring out the glistening hive
Came hordes and hordes of bees
Buzzing through the cloudy air
And zooming over trees

He went every which direction
But soon the bees would follow
Until he found a tree trunk
That was relatively hollow

The bees now scattered everywhere
Except where he was hidden
For they could just not find him
As if it were forbidden

Soon they went back to the hive
All tired and defeated
And as for the caterpillar
His mission wasn’t yet completed

Now an army of wasps
Had discovered the bees
And now they were joining
Their forces, if you please

Now back to the caterpillar
Clambering through the bracken
Certain the miracle of his life
Soon must happen

He scampered and hopped
And he leapt through the ferns
But that little green insect
still had to learn

Something peculiar
How this story ends
Those wasps and those bees
Were not foes but friends

Come Home Topsy Mopsy Moo

5
by Sarrinah aged 11

When I was just about to turn four,
my parents took me to this house.
And in this house there was a room,
And it was filled with kittens,
and my parents told me to pick just one.
I then looked around and chose Tim,
I hadn’t seen you just yet.

Then all of a sudden, Mum saw you
My beautiful Topsy mopsy moo.
I saw you and I fell in love,
“Mummy can we have two?”
I said in awe.
“No honey let’s go” she said
Distraught

Just as I got in the car,
Mum then ran back into the house
An came out with you.
“They said it was a boy,
So yes Mimi moo,
We will have two!”
On the ride
“What shall they be called?” Mum asked me
“Topsy and Tim!” I said
“But they are both boys,” dad said
“No there not” I said
I just had a feeling you were a girl I guess

It took a week for Mum to realise,
I was in fact correct.
So Topsy and Tim it was I guess.

Now to a year later,
You were now two and one day I found
Mum cutting up a big red box
“Mum what are you doing?” I asked
“Topsy is pregnant” she replied
I was confused I didn’t understand

Three months later,
You were in your box with a kitten
I picked them up and ran to mum
“MUM!” I screamed
“What, MIMI WHAT IS THAT”
“It’s Topsy’s kitten!”
“MIMI PUT IT BACK YOU CAN’T TOUCH THEM YET!”
I walked to you then and put her back,
I then named it Issey the First

Issey and her sibling,
Then went to live on a farm
And I cried a bit but I moved on.

We then moved to Taplow,
and when I was seven years old
You had Issey the Second, our little boy.
We still have him living with us to this day

Now fast forward a couple of days

You went missing and we don’t know where
And Tim has been sitting by the door,
Meowing waiting for you to come back.
MEOW MREEEOW MEOW!
Day and night
Issey has been crying looking for you,
With his one green eye.
The boys have put their problems between each other,
Aside for you. And dad goes and looks for you
Every day.
Where are you my Topsy Mopsy Moo

I search everyday on every website,
Just for you.
My little Topsy Mopsy Moo.
We have called every shelter in the country
And told them to look for you.

Where are you Topsy?

Topsy went missing on the 21/12/21
