Rain, Sun, Snow

Rain on the roof,
Rain on my head,
Rain in the gutter,
Everywhere’s wet.

Sun on the grass,
Sun on the plot,
Sun on the beach,
Everywhere’s hot.

Snow in the day,
Snow in the night,
Snow on the trees,
Everywhere’s white.

My Dog Ate My Homework

0
by Francesca aged 10

One day I went into school
Without my homework in my bag,
I tried to explain to my teacher,
My dog ate my homework
However she wouldn’t listen,
And sent me to my seat,
I tried to do another sheet
But the same thing happened to me.
So, I went back to school,
Without my homework sheet,
So my teacher came home,
Turned out she could change,
The way my dog behaved!
So I finally finished my homework,
Much to my regret,
Cos when I went back to school,
I hadn’t finished my essays yet!

Someone Special

Who is your special someone?
Who is the light in your life?
Who is your loyal companion?
Who will always try?

My special someone,
I cannot tell,
But they love me no matter the condition,
I choose to buy them not sell.

They are the first star I see,
They are my strength and hope,
They are my sign of peace,
Will I leave them? Nope!

The Best Teacher

by Akanksha aged 8

Miss Bicketon
her hair glistens in the sun,
I really wish you could stay,
stay in this school all the way,
Our is probably the best,
well, probably better than the school you’ll go next!

Owl 2

by Adithi Pratap aged 9

Leaves are stuffed in its house,
It has a book showing a mouse.

Once in the house it leaps,
It’ll soon fall asleep.

It has feathers of brown and white,
To creatures it’s a dangerous bite.

Sometimes it’ll be really cute,
Sometimes it’ll want you to be mute.

But it can do a frown,
So turn it upside down!

Ball

by Adithi Pratap aged 9

It is really good, the ball
Different sizes, big or small.

It’ll bounce around,
And it will never make a sound.
But when the air is gone,
It’ll again have to be blown up!

Everyone likes it, even the Mayor!
It’s really popular, it’s major!

Candle

The candle burns up tonight,
It will flicker really bright.
But when it’s dark,
Like a piece of bark,
It will light you up
like a coffee cup!
And when it lights up your day,
You should shout a big hooray!
But when it dies,
Shout – Oh my!
Light it again,
You’ll be happy then!
This really is the best,
It never stops to have a rest.

Plastic Pollution

by Akanksha aged 8

Plastic pollution,
We clearly need a resolution,
Harming all animals, minibeasts and marine life,
Toys, plastic bags and bottles are rife

Recycle your bags and plastic waste,
Make sure we don’t leave a single trace.
Together we can make a better world,
The one that we all deserve.

Owl

The owl turns its head around,
It can hear a lot of sound.

It will sleep in the day,
So don’t be sad you can’t play
It  will look really good,
Just like an image in a book.

It will look with its eyes,
And may hoot and say Hi
It likes to eat mice,
It’ll try to be nice.

The Sunflower

by Hanshika Mandal aged 12

Alone was the flower
among the pretty others,
her hideousness, or so she thought,
stood out.
Her beauty from within
was only a dim light
She needed to know how to shine bright,
She wasn’t hideous at all.
Yet the others teased her and made her feel small,
this is what makes people insecure.
One day everyone will bloom
like a beautiful sunflower.
