My Eyes, I Pull.

0
by Jasmine Wilson aged 12

I pull at my eyes,
For too much they have seen,
A world too dark,
Too cruel – it’s bordering obscene.
The horrors linger,
Etched in my restless mind,
A thousand nightmares,
And only one way for them to be left behind.

With trembling palm,
I rip,
Tear,
Pull my eyes out,
To silence all this agonising doubt,
For sight had led me to witness too much,
Things too deep,
Things I couldn’t trust.
And now I long for endless, eternal sleep.

No eyes, no pain,
No world to see or fear,
Just dancing shadows and silent whispers,
Far or near.
I’m in darkness now,
And I hold my tongue and peace,
Where all the worlds terrors,
They finally cease.

Storm

by Lilly aged 8

Floorboards creaking,
I am freaking on a silent night.
Wind so loud not giving up without a fight,
Though I say not so polite.
It WASN’T a silent night
The hail gave me SUCH a fright,
I wonder when nightmares end?
I guess it all depends.

Being a Teacher

0
by Sofia aged 8

When I grow up I will be a teacher
Teaching tasks too
I will show my students where to use the loo
Pens, highlighters, rulers too
Come to school and I’ll teach you
Our class bunny, he is funny
Bob is his name
It’s not me you should blame
NO NEED TO SOB
AS A TEACHER IS MY JOB

Floorboards creaking,
I am freaking, on a silent night.
Wind so loud not giving up without a fight.
My dog is sleeping ever so happily.
While I’m here ever so sadly,
Staring at the windowpane.
I wonder when the nightmares end.

The River’s Connection

0
by Mia Henric aged 11

I look at the river beyond my eyes
To look at the stories that lie deep inside
As I see the daughter of the great holy mother
Her name is Mother Earth

The seaweed, like hair of the mermaid
The shells, a home to the crabs
They all make one thing, the daughter
Her name is Majestic Water

New Reflection of Me

0
by Demi Panks aged 12

Staring deep into a clear frosty lake
Seeing the reflection of me
Knowing there is something off
Not just a cold and a cough
Something deep inside of me
Like I’m getting washed over by the cold sea
A new feeling dawn’s me
A feeling sharper than a key
The overwhelming thoughts surround me
The sound of buzzing like bees on a shopping spree
The feeling of the light grass tickled my legs
The sight of spiders building their webs
The moon disappears and the sun rises
A new day begins
A new feeling and fresh new me
The reflection of me reappears as I see a new version of me

In The Closet

0
by Zac Willcocks

In the closet it’s safe
In the closet there’s no one that’s fake
Feels like my mouth is covered with tape
Whenever someone asks if I’m gay
I just need to laugh and say ‘no way!’

Cat Dreams

0
by Maya Dylan Troy aged 9

Cats are furry,
some are not.
Some take journeys
and travel a lot.

If you see a cat,
give her a gentle pat
‘cause it’s a natural
thing to do.

Your dreams will all come true.
And that is why I like you.

Dreams

by Milla Tomblin aged 10

Dreams give people imagination,
They help shape our nation,
They set us goals,
They may be because of roles.

Dreams mean your heart is set a certain way,
For dreams you do not have to pay,
Dreams are always somewhere in your heart,
Maybe not a lot but a part.

As I Was Walking

0
by Harriet Jones aged 7

One day I was walking by a river.
I saw a big bird,
It was tall and skinny
And very, very silly.
Never like a bird I have seen before.
Never seen a bird like that before.

No wonder people say birds are so interesting.
