A Poem of Rats

0
by Noah H aged 10

The rats are out of hand.
The rats ate food in daytime and evenings.
Everyone hates rats
Everyone tried to get rats destroyed but it’s not working,
The rats are smarter than us, the rat in voids
The rat poison did not work.
They keep on stealing food.
They are everywhere in our towns.
The mayor doesn’t know what to do anymore.
Pied piper drove them in the river.
Rats are gone.
Dungeons has rats still.

A Rat Poem

by Cody C aged 10

Rats are bad,
They can carry fleas,
That can give you a disease.
They chew your hats,
They bite your mats,
They run around in the dead of night,
With them no house is rat-tight.
When you see them you scream
When you see them you squeal
They squeak as much as the floorboards creak.
You shout SHOO!
You try and hit them with a baseball bat.
The harder you hit, the more that you miss.
You get ‘em out of the house,
But they always will come back on your home run!
They eat your sweets,
They chew the tops of your beets!
Your traps don’t work,
You go berserk!
You want to strangle them
You want them to be mangled by boa constrictor!
Their scaly tails,
Their pointy nails…
YOU HATE EM!
The troublesome things that they are!

Ah, This Year

0
by Melody M. aged 10

Ahh, it’s twenty twenty two now
been at least 3 years since I’ve been on here
progress has been made just like the cold lemonade,
it’s summer now and a lot has changed…

The Covid is coming down,
people are allowed on planes now
that’s made me really happy
even though I have not been on one yet
we will one day be met

Boris Johnson might go away
will this be happy or sad
I don’t know about you
but it makes me kind of mad

But there are a load of things
I want to do this year,
so I have come to say
what I want to today

Ahh, this year,
I want to go on a plane
and travel somewhere far away

Ahh, this year,
I want to pass my exams
this will get me a better future
of the land

Ahh, this year,
I want to make
a difference,
I want to change the world.
Be polite, kind and grind
all the bad things

Ah,h this year,Ii want to make chickens have wings
not only physically
but to fly high
and to touch the sky.

Ahh, this year,
I want people to believe
in themselves
and so they can achieve.

Now I have told you
a load of things
I would like to do
hopefully I can achieve them
even though some are quite tricky to do.

Now I’m going to say
my goodbye
have a great day or night
if you liked this poem
thanks for reading.
this is not over
cya later

An Acrostic Poem About Animals

0
by Bea Stevens aged 9

Always there for their owners. (If they’re pets)
Never afraid to fight for territory. (In the wild)
I absolutely love them. (Pets or in the wild)
My rabbit is the best. (She is a pet)
An elephant is pretty cool. (In the wild or in a zoo)
Love them all like me, come on! (In the wild or a pet)
Super-duper vets will save their lives. (All of them!)

Rainbow

0
by Ghita aged 11

Triumphing every pain,
withstanding every shame.
My love for you shall grow,
and my hate for you I shall throw.
You make me smile you make me laugh and sometimes I even dance.
I’ll be honest, there are some things that make me mad and some that make me sad.
But I look through it because I know,
After every rainfall, there is a rainbow.

Dinner Lady

by Daniyal aged 8

Today at school

I cut my knee.

The dinner lady

looked after me.

She washed away

the blood and dirt,

then put a plaster

where it hurt.

Haunted House

by Milan aged 9

I’ve seen a haunted house,
I’m seeing it with my blouse,
It was cold,
But I didn’t do what I was told,
By staying away,
This is where I used to play,
This is where I used to sit,
The mud felt like a sand pit,
This is the haunted house,
I don’t miss it,
You shouldn’t too,
Don’t go to this place.

Turning the Tables Around

by Aadya Goel aged 9

This is a brand new day
Send all your gloominess away
From a life of misery
Turn it to life of hope and glee

This is a brand new day
This is your chance
Travel to Monaco, travel to Italy,
Travel to Spain or Travel to France.

This is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for
Go achieve your goal
Go achieve tour dream
And satisfy the needs of your soul

This is a brand new day
Turn the tables around
Do whatever you want,
For the reason you live, is found.

This is the brand new day,
This is the new you,
Never give up
And believe in you.

A Beautiful Tune

2
by Nellie Newton aged 8

On the rocks
By the green, green grass
Was a man who lay on a pile of hay
He played a tune
Such a wonderful, bright tune
That the miserable sky turned light blue
The trees danced as the birds tweeted
And one by one, flowers grew
And the sun appeared out of the clouds too
It was a magnificent sight to see in the light
As the man played his tune.
