Music

Music is like a different world
It can whisk you away in a whirl
Notes flying everywhere
In the air, in the sea
Different harmonies
Notes of C B E F G and A
Playing songs so amazing and true
Like a river of tunes
A treetop of melodies
And a house full of chants
All playing in unison
All playing as one

Memory

by Bella aged 7

Death is long and hard
It scars you for life
Like taking a bullet for someone else
But death is something that makes a true memory
A memory that never gets lost or left behind
Or forgotten
It stays with you for the rest of your life
Throughout difficult times it will help you
So never forget – no one is ever gone

School Subjects

I want to tell what I like about school.
I’d like to start with science and PE
Before I take a bath I like to do some maths
Geography is fun, I like to eat it with my bun.
English is cool, that’s mainly why I love school
History is so boring – the teacher caught me snoring

Rainbows

Roses are red and so is my bed.
Pumpkins are orange, well, like an orange.
Mango’s are yellow and so is jello.
Broccoli is green and I like it with my beans.
Blueberries are blue and looks to me like glue.
Onions are purple and so is the colour purple.
Flowers are pink and so is my pink dress.
My felt tip is grey and so are the living room curtains.
Chocolate is brown and so is my teddy bear.
My doll is black and so is my hair.

Fireworks

Fireworks arent just things that blow-up in the sky
They’re beautiful
There’s a pop in the sky or if it rains the rain will drop drop
Fireworks are like a ball of energy givin’ to every-one
Pop, pop, pop
Hearing happiness

Dig my Jazz

Roses will rain
When I meet the blade
Of my existence
Jesus will guide me
In a boxcar singing
And a sad song slow and sweet.
The hillside
Has been steep,
But I’ve patiently overcome
Every disappointment
I pass
There’s nothing I regret
Cause Jazz will be there.

Sky Storm

2
by Zoë Hattingh aged 12

Rain gliding down the window,
falling far below…

Cloudy sky and misty,
a thick and boundless fog…
Turning lands below into a vast and endless bog.

The thuder clashes, while lightning flashes,
The sky is being torn apart.

Nita the Magnifisheep

by Layla Balt aged 11

I have a sheep as a pet,
A very peculiar pet.

A sheep that flies high in the skies,
Loves to cook and read books,

Is very smart like an owl’s art,
But lives in a mountain far from our hearts.

Nita is her name as strange as she seems,
But we still love her just in our way.

She has a brain that likes to play games,
And is wonderful in her own way.

She loves to do swirls and twirls in the sky,
Like when a falcon dives.

Nita stays the same, just loves a better game.

Limerick

There once was a kid called Ash,
She had lots and lots of cash.
She took out the bin,
And broke her chin.
And at the end she had big rash.
