Someone is Not Happy

Someone is not happy
Someone who is blue
Can you guess who?
Someone who is blue and green

He or she is feeling so sick as never been
We try to help cure
But that is a tear which is pure
Try to clean it up and down
But that is dirt of the land which is brown

Can you guess who?
I am not lying it is true
That someone is not happy
Who could it be?
He or She!

Of course it is our mummies
For they fill our tummies
They gave us birth
Can you guess now?
It is our own Mother Earth
So let us bow
And say SORRY!!

Who Am I?

All those words I’m willing to say
with all those opinions
I’m expected be who am I
beneath all these
say I may be a song, a tune
or a hidden GEM
I have the wisdom the knowledge
and the power of me
I might not be the best to them
but to me that’s me
all, all of those comments hidden behind
but that makes me who I am.

Hope

When the clouds cover the sky,
And the rain begins to fall,
You wish that you could stay in
That beautiful house of yours.
But a silver light is shining through
Into your house and into your room,
That is hope.

It will lead you, out of your room and out of your house,
It will lead you to a place,
Where the sun is shining brightly,
Where there are no clouds to be seen,
Where you can live happily.

Who Am I?

by Keya Shahi aged 11

I am brave
I am kind
I am cool
But I don’t know why

I am chic
I am tall
But I may fall

I am lazy
I am pretty
But sometimes I may be witty

Although I am all those things

A Sonnet, Springtime in the UK

by Darcey Holloway aged 12

In spring time, the air blows peacefully
In spring time, the birds chirp elegantly
In spring time, the sun glows gracefully
In spring time, the trees gloom with appealing latticework
The weather is warm and the bunnies hop around
Spring time is the best
I get to be myself!

One Last Chance

Dear climate killers,

Are you happy with yourself?
Are you happy that you have caused mass destruction.
People’s futures are ruined
Are you happy now?

Are you happy now?
That polar bears have no home
or maybe their hope is drifting on single slither of ice.
Do you enjoy watching as 750 billion tons of ice caps
melt into a black hole of nothingness.
Are you happy now?

Are you happy with the clouds lingering above our heads?
The ones filled with carbon.
Oh yes, you know.
The ones that have come to take our future.
The ones you created. Yes you! Over there!
All of you! Are you happy now?

Are you happy with the overflowed oceans
That swallow islands whole.
The last few fish and the turtles with plastic straws.
The copper killed coral is calling your name and pleading for forgiveness.
Are you listening?
Are you happy now?

Are you happy! Happy, happy, happy!
No of course you’re not! Nothing ever pleases you!
Not the clogged up clouds or the bare polar bears.
Not even the suffocating smog or the blistering blizzards.
Nothing.
Are you happy?

Take a moment to think.
Take a last look at our evaporating Earth.
One last look till you move onto planet B like you always do.
Well let me tell you, there is no planet B.
There is no superhero to come to your aid.
There is no fairytale potion to get you out of this nightmare.
Are you happy now?

Climate Change 2

Climate Change has gone too far
We can’t change
It’s too late to change
Climate Change is too far away from our grasp
We can’t control it
All we can do is sit
And watch the change happen
The Earth getting more mis-shapen
By the day
The horses neigh
For our help, but we ignore
We need help
If anyone can hear me
Help the world from total destruction

Climate Change

I hear your worry
Before climate change gets out of control
We can stroll through the park
And help in any way we can
Every plan
Now counts
With a little help
We can yelp
For victory
Against this never-ending war
We must soar
Up in the air
To survive this never-ending war
Against this climate change

Think

If you’re trying to think
and the world is shouting
find a quiet place

If you’re trying to think
and the world is silent
I will be locked out of heaven
but I will always try and sail

Brave and bold is our friend
Bright and brilliant, they said
Beautiful and bizarre, she said
Stay, they said
