The Night Before Xmas When I Tried to Help

3
by Iga aged 11

The night before Xmas I was trying to help
Tried to iron but burnt a shirt and then
Tried to help cook I spilled the soup
Then I thought I am not good enough so I tried again
Kept trying and trying but it didn’t work
I forgot about the tree and fell into it
And now I have to find something I am good at
But then I thought really really hard and remembered
I don’t have to be a good cook or a master at ironing
The simplest thing that I can be good at is being myself

Danger World War

0
by Freya Dunlop aged 11

In the darkest part of the world
There lay a war
Where people fought with a battle sword
There was no door
No family
Not a friend
No one lived happily
There was no end

Thunder left such huge craters of silence
Children ran away from their parents
Sometimes stranded on islands
Worried about the disappearance
You feel banished, useless, impractical
You think why am I here
This war is actual
You might as well disappear

The war may be dangerous
We need to take risks
Come and be adventurous
The breeze could be quite brisk
So take the only chance
Fight, fight, fight
You could possibly advance
Just know that what you do is right.

Acrostic Poem

by Autumn aged 8

Christmas is my favourite time of year!
Happy Christmas to all and to all goodnight!
Read some Christmas stories on Christmas Eve night!
I love Christmas!
Saint Nick will soon be here!
Tinsel all over the Christmas! As mum is saying, it’s beautiful!
Merry Christmas everyone!
As Saint Nick slips down the chimney, I’m sleeping and dreaming!
So –  extremely excited for Christmas!

Once there was a girl called Leila she lived in a very big castle and but she was very poor and she couldn’t afford food and clothes. She had enough, just plenty for herself and her sister Maggie. Double dates, they travelled all around the country for food but they didn’t find anything so they decided to get job making cat doughnuts. Then they became multi-millionaire shares and they do they do cats dances in many Hollywood shows.
