The Fabulous Funfair

If you go to the funfair, it will be the best,
Better than the play park, better than the rest.

Riding on the drop tower ride,
Is always really fun,
But if you don’t like heights,
You won’t look at it; you’ ll just run!

The twisty turny helter-skelter
Is not the one to miss
It’s races you down as fast as lightning
To whoever will take the risk!

Now we’ll go to the ferris wheel
It gives a spectacular panorama
But the rare speed, mind you,
Might not give any drama.

I always go to the dodgems
I invariably try to dodge them,
But always in vain,
Though I do get a gain.

I love the funfair, I feel so delighted there,
Some of the rides are made to dare,
Because there is a happy air there!

My Sister

My little sister is a ball of fun,
She can’t sit, she has to run!
Fun and lively her nature is,
Her energy will get your mind in a whizz!

She always has surprises up her sleeve,
But from me she never, ever will leave,
Enjoyment is the rule which is number one
When we laugh together, in our fantastic fun.

With some shiny black hair
And a grin on her face
No matter what she does
She’ll do it like an ace!

But sometimes there is a meltdown,
She can’t smile, she has to frown.
She will cry and it will be hard to bear
Leaving you sad and in despair.

Naughty she is by nature
However she is very mature
The cutest darling you’d have seen
Is the kindest person ever been!

Snow

I was longing for the snow to come
Or else my winter would be glum
If it did, with delight I’d explode
And burst into happy mode!

When the snow fell, it was like magic
And it was all good, nothing tragic
The wonderful world was totally white
But for some reason didn’t feel right.

The fantastic flakes kept falling
All of them until morning
And when I saw snow everywhere
I felt extremely elated, just there.

Happily, I went outside that day
Treading on snow all the way
And I built a great snowman
While enjoying the snow as I ran

But soon the snow turned into ice
It definitely wasn’t very nice
I couldn’t bear it; all this snow
Being morphed into ice; a rogue?

I adore fantastic powdery snow
It’s great, I don’t want it to go
But it will go very soon
And I will be left in gloom.

Pets are fluffy,
pets are cute
but sometimes they are cheeky
Sometimes they smell cheesy
but they are the best
no matter what their name is
They are are always loveable and in your heart

How I’ve Been Working on Poems

1
by Izzy aged 7

Poems, poems, poems, poems
They go through my head, even when I’m in bed.
Even though I like poems sometimes they make me know everything
But then they make me think (instead of know it is no-ems).

Poems, poems, poems ,poems
They’re good for your brain, but sometimes they cause pain.
Even though they cause pain, they’re still good for your brain!
Have fun with your poems
For example maybe write about about a plum?

Poems, poems, poems, poems
Like I said earlier, pain can go through your brain
but sometimes they can drain out!

Poems, poems, poems ,poems
It’s want I want to shout about.

My mum works all day and all night,
She sleeps in fright about the day.
She won’t even talk to us,
I think she getting bored with us.
My brother agrees she is being mean,

Snowball Fight

3
by Alaina aged 8

Crisp, blue skies, a blanket of snow
racing into the park I go.
Wrapped up warm, I start to shout
as other children run about.

“Snowball fight?” I ask and grin,
everybody wants to win!
Children squeal and start to race
and then there is a mighty chase!

Snowballs pelt through the sky.
we duck and dive as they fly high.
Crouching down, I roll some more.
I giggle as I watch them soar.

Ouch! One hits me on my hat!
I jump as another one goes splat!
I laugh a lot, my belly aches
as we play among the white snowflakes.

Night is near, the sky turns black.
tired and wet, I slowly walk back.
I snuggle up in clean, warm clothes,
the smell of hot chocolate drifting through my nose.
