Ode to Horses

0
by Ruth Cervantes aged 12

Oh horses, how much I love horses.
They are the perfect animal I know.
The majestic and beautiful animal.
You are my world, my entire life.
Oh horses, I love how fast you run.
How the wind hits your face.
How the wind rises
Your beautiful manes.
Oh horses, the beautiful colors
you have.
I can’t live without you.
So, oh horse, you didn’t know?
You are the most precious animal I know.
So now live your life with something you love.
Like I once did, and I still do.
Go and be free, be yourself and love the way I love you.

Phoenix’s Flame

0
by Jen aged 9

A phoenix’s flame
has great fame
It is really bright
such a sight!
The phoenix itself is orange, yellow and red
It’s like a nightlight when you go to bed.
Then the fire bird dangerously crashes
and slowly burns to ashes.
Eventually the phoenix rebirths
and rises out of its fiery hearth.
Even if the bird is alone,
its legend is still far wide known

One day when I saw a boy.
He’s older then me, he’s funny, helpful.
He is nice to me and other people.

He looked like a fun person to have a lesson with

Spring

Spring is finally here
parrots sing
it’s Spring.
Rain falling down
in the town
nests all around
Grass is everywhere
to be found.

Weather Worries

2
by Charlottei aged 12

my brain is foggy
the thoughts unclear
no time for laughs
or lonesome tears
the shadows run
like darkened clouds
rumbling shouts
like London crowds
am I here
or am I there?
something lies
within the air
submerged deep
like a lost submarine
silent yet stressful
and always unseen
crash through the surface
the breaking of light
and now with the tide
I take flight

One Week

Seven more days
the terror begins
of bad attitudes
and unforgiving sins
A week until
the light is seen
blow out the candle
I’m almost 13

Been a Bit Busy

1
by Charlottei aged 12

I’ve been a bit busy
though life is at ease
It’s been a while
since I’ve written one of these
I’ve missed the rhythm
the comforting swing
for poetry may just be
my favourite thing
The chaos of life
the drama of school
no time to write
no time at all
a full schedule
and I want to flee
been a bit busy
much love,
Charlottei
