Lots to think about in this book – some lovely wordplay around some unusual and interesting subjects. Experts – like vets, fire fighters, scientists and lifeguards – become wizards. Jack has a chat to a load of legumes (beans talk). We come up close to Anxiety and Fear and find that hugs can work wonders. Every poem in this book merits a re-read. Some are funny, some are weird and get ready for a good sob when you reach Barney at the end. I like the endpiece which explains where the poet gets his ideas from… Lively illustrations by Chris Piascik.
