Claudia writes: Here’s a short poem for the Poetry Zone – a found poem. I wrote it by crossing out parts of sentences from a page of a novel and using the remaining words to make a poem. This technique is surprisingly challenging, but it is still great fun.

MorningsĀ by Claudia Taylor

Mornings were rainy.
I loved the blue-gray
noon and the
lilac sky.

Sensually he
would smile at
June,

leaving
for the wet
horses
and the dew-
delighted
hay.
